classic portraits

Every now and then I enjoy classic portraits. It’s something you have to try to understand what direct, frontal, one on one portraiture is about. And you figure out that it’s really more than simply observing an event or a scene, it’s interacting with it as well, strongly.

This is not so complicated but it would solve tons of problems. Leica had success thanks to:

dimension of the system – it was small, compact, easy to hide and carry
 it seemed amateur-like but it gave professional results (high quality resolution on film)
absence of vibrations – the lack of a reflex mirror allowed for longer exposures [...]
